Whether you’re here to make a toast or make a statement, bookings keep the peace. Reserve a table for you and your fellow advocates to make sure you don’t miss the next big vote on cocktails or our late-night games. Because in democracy, showing up matters – and so does having a seat.

Booking FAQs

1. Are there any costs for voting songs to the playlist ? 

No, the use of all our voting software is absolutely free of charge for all guests that have ordered something from our menu.

2. Can I use this form to make a table reservation?

Yes you can use this form to make bookings for any group of up to 15 guests. For larger bookings, please email us at info@democracybar.co.za

3. Can I book out the entire venue for an event?

Yes, but please note that exclusive venue bookings will require a minimum spend commitment. Email us at info@democracybar.co.za for more information.

4. What is the latest I can make a booking for?

We unfortunately do not take bookings past 21:00 in the evening. 

5. What happens if I don’t book a table and just arrive (i.e. walk in)?

We welcome any customer to simply drop by during our normal operating hours, but please note that available seating is managed on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis and we cannot unfortunately guarantee that all walk-in customers will be able to be seated.

6. Why I am not able to book at a certain time or day?

This is most likely because we are already at full seating capacity on this particular time/day. To see however if we can accommodate you in some way, please email us at info@democracybar.co.za with the details of your requested booking. We’ll always try our best to make a plan for you.

Please note: We reserve the right to reallocate booked seating to walk-in customers if a guest fails to arrive within 30 minutes of their agreed booking start time.
